Geometric Terms and Properties

The Basic Building Blocks of Geometry

In geometry, the terms point, line and plane are considered undefined terms since they are explained using only examples and descriptions. Yet, these terms are useful in defining other geometric terms and properties.

Space is the set of all points.

Collinear points are points that lie in the same line.

Geometry

Geometry is a branch of mathematics which, as the name suggests, combines abstract algebra, especially commutative algebra, with geometry. It can be seen as the study of solution sets of systems of polynomials. When there is more than one variable, geometric considerations enter and are important to understand the phenomenon.
