DBQ: Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois

I have an assigned DBQ but we have to do templates first to 'guide us' and i feel dumb for saying this but I don't know what information to cover and in what order...
we're not supposed to dedicate a wholoe paragraph to one man and his method...it's so confusing...can anyone help?

Here's the Question:
Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois offered different strategies for deealing with the problems of poverty and discrimination faced by Black Americans at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth centuries.
Using the documents and your knowledge of the period 1877-1915; assess the appropriateness of each of these strategies in the historical context in which each was developed.

Can anyone help me understand?

hey, ihad to write about this also .ok in order to write your dbq, u first have to understand the different point of vies that they hard,
Booker T. Washington, an ex-slave came to help, starting by heading a black normal and industrial school in Tuskegee, Alabama, and teaching the students their useful skills and trades. However, he avoided the issue of social equality; he believed in Blacks helping themselves first before gaining more rights.

However, W.E.B. Du Bois, demanded complete equality for Blacks and action now, and he also founded the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in 1910.

Many of Du Bois’s differences with Washington reflected the contrasting life experiences of southern and northern Blacks.
I got this from the outline.

Can anyone help me understand?
