AP_Work_R's picture

I found an article about a British man who overcame the virus!
Here's the link: BBC News

It's amazing how very, very small percentage of people can survive this virus !

*Edit: -.-" ....This news is 2 months old...? Wonder why I got it now...oops...Well, it's still interesting :p!

The below statement is false.
The above statement is true.

cool, this is most likely due to some genetic resistance that the man is putting up. There are few proteins that the body produces that overcomes the HIV virus. He must have a lot of those.

Uhh... that's actually an old news. It was out in the news two or three months ago.

I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception.

Actually lots of African prostitutes have been found to become "immune" to the virus after being exposed to it so much.

There are ways to survive or get rid of it, it's just very very hard.

They might be immune but only until they die like 10 years later due to virus's effects.

That has nothing to do with immunity, that has to do with the latent and active stages of the HIV virus.

APFAq's picture

i know but technically nobody is immune to the HIV virus before they are infected. Only if they already have the virus they are immune.

That doesn't mean they are immune, it just means it gets worse.

Like the common cold, because you have it then you are exposed to it again doesn't mean you're immune, you just get it worse.

exactly thats what I was trying to say
