Hope this gets to you in time and does some good! Here's my suggestions for going about Related Rates problems:

1. Draw a picture of what's going on. Lines for stationary distances and arrows for changing distances.

2. Label and list all your values, even the zeros (if not especially the zeros)

3. Find an equation to find what the problem asks for, using as many of the given quantitites as possible and identify the unknown.

4. Find an equation to find any unknown values and then, well, find them.

5. Solve the problem.

Good Luck on your test! Make sure to take a deep breath before you start and to try to stay calm.

You just take the deriviative of both sides and create two equations. Then plug in the equation so that you only have one variable. THen plug in the rates into teh deriviatives :D
hope that helps :D
