2. of course the japanese were the most harsh to their POWs, i'll admit, the japanese have done some of the sickest **** things before to every nation they dislike. never said they weren't
3. yes their goal is to give up their life while taking their oppositions. when we have a POW that situation changes. why must we take a nasty form of advantage of our power at the moment we have it? torture is not in anyway of justification. a POW is harmless. did u know that the amnesty did a research on torture tactics and 99% of the info they spit out is false? why? let's think about it. let's start out with something not too harsh. they are hanging thongs on your head makign jokes of your mother, stripping you naked...their religion is much more sacred than christianity about their body. btw you are an insurgent right now lol. ok so they are doing this to you, and you are a harmless POW. even if it's small mind tactics...is it necessary to degrade you of your religion, your mother, your manhood just for info? they will not stop, and they will step up their torture if you do nto give any info. so of course you will have to spit something out.
4. if you think torture is anyways justifiable, you are sick. btw, that website on ur sig is so hostile against liberals it makes me sick. we surely do not know what kind of torture is going on. my friend is a very hardcore conservative (not that makes any difference in our friendship) but he said that torture is is bad no matter who you are fighting. why? he showed me a russian POW being tortured. of course this was more graphic than the stuff we do now ( the russian was getting his throat slit very slowly and there was blood EVERYWHERE and when he started to speak there would be gurgling in his own blood and spraying of thick blood from his neck). i cant explain to you how that video related to the info torture we have today, but if u watch it (ill give u link if you'd like) you will be against torture in any form. it's so wrong to degrade a humans life when the he/she is harmless.
5. we're americans and we shoudl be proud of it. we are americans not beasts. we are americans not terrorists.
1. Let's see, my father is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, we are currently living overseas and I've spoken with many soldiers who have come straight from Iraq and Afgahnistan and been stationed here in Bolivia. We don't execute prisoners. And If they never reveal info... how are you so sure the US army is inhumane.. or that torture even occurs?
3. I'd much rather be humiliated by the enemy than have my head slowly cut off in front of my family and anyone else with internet access. Wouldn't you? And if you can save innocent lives by getting information from a terrorist, it is very necessary. Would you rather save a terrorist from embarrasment... or save an American Convoy [alternately. a Bus full of innocent Iraqis.].
4. Was the US torturing this soldier? Exactly. You know what's even worse? A US civilian having his head sawed off with a sword while being broadcast on the internet for his family to see. And this is happening TODAY. This is how terrorist deal with their prisoners.
Harmless? If i'm not mistaken a (i usually don't refer to them as such but for your sake will) POW is someone who is captured... fighting for the other side... shooting at you... unless you don't find a gun and explosives threatening, i believe you can call a POW a potential threat. Add the fact that these are terrorist who would kill you at any opportunity they had and whos only purpose is the destruction of any way of life other than their own...
As you said "thsi is ridiculous."

It's all made up lies by liberals in the media, right?

Why is this a matter of either this or that. Of course you know which one we'd pick, the fact is that both are unacceptable.
Besides, torture doesn't work, people will say anything to get you to stop. Just ask John McCain.

Of course it's worse, but that doesn't give us the right to do our own lesser version to these prisoners that have not been given trials, so therefore not "guilty" yet.

Duh, terrorists are bad. That's why we don't stoop to their level.

No, the point is that tallgeese stated that "they never reveal info." If this were true, there would be no way of him/her or anyone else knowing anything about the military, torture, ect and therefore this arguement wouldn't even exist.

Hmm. I don't really consider it a form of torture, but I oppose it.
Torture is basically the cruelest way to deal with a person whether he is good or evil. I think torture is pure insanity because punishments such as the death sentence put fear in people during their last seconds of life. The element of pain triggers the fear in people on how they are going to continue to be existant. What happens when I die?? Questions like that should not be running in a persons mind. I would say that people should die peacefully. If they were to give the death sentence they should drug the person and give them morphine to ease the pain. A painless death is what people should deserve.

I don't think we should be torturing people on a regular basis, but consider this. You have a guy and he's been arrested in connection with a cell out of New York which has concealed a nuclear device somewhere in the city. We know for a fact that this guy knows where it is. In less than one hour, the nuke will detonate killing millions of Americans. Do you make sure that he given his civil rights and treated fairly? Or do you hang that mother****** by his thumbs and find out where the damn bomb is?

Jesus Christ, how twisted is that?
And what makes you think he wouldn't lie to get you to stop?
Talk to expert interrogators about people lying to get people to stop. The stress in the brain by "torture" distorts the mind's ability to function. Basically, you no longer think to lie.
Or you could listen to someone who has been tortured i.e. John McCain, who when tortured for names in Vietnam gave the starting line of his favorite football team.
