I feel like a loner.

I just moved to a new school and can't seem to make friends. I move around alot and I can't figure out why this school is so hard to fit into. Am I doing something wrong? I'm outgoing, I introduce myself to many people, I smile, I'm nice. I don't get it. Please help with this dilema.

This may sound a bit cliche, but it may not be you. High school's are generally hard to fit into, as most groups have been formed in junior high. Unless you are being stuck up and a jerk to people, I doubt it's something that you have done. It may be that people don't feel like they know the real you. A good way to make friends is through clubs. If you aren't in any, I highly recommend joining one or two. Pick one that sparks your interest. A good one, at least at my school, for making new friends is Key Club. Another good way to meet people and make friends is to join a sport (track season is coming up). If your school has a newspaper, see if you can become a writer for them, and maybe do a piece about how hard it is moving a lot. That may help the other students at your school feel as if they know you a little better. Hope this helps!

P.S. I'm always around here if you need to talk.

Der Laufer, You joined Key Club too!!! haha, I have that here at my school.

Well, back to the conversation. MexicanaChulax3, I'm sorry that you feel that way, but it's always going to be hard right when you first come in as "the new kid" but I promise you that if the people there at your high school are real people, you'll make friends just fine.

I agree with der laufer, join some school activities and clubs. Really get out there, and let your voice be heard. And from personal experience, you can befriend a few people in class and just go on from there... ^_^

I'll always be here too if you ever need anything else, okk? Take care and You'll always have a friend here on cnotes. Don't feel alone, everything will be better for you as time passes by. I guarentee that.

If you want contact me through emails and stuff...we can talk more. I don't want you to feel alone.

feel free to contact me at any moment in time okk? Much Love goes out to you!!

Huh..I've never heard of this Key Club..well I guess that means its not in Hawaii or Texas. whatever. anyway

I have a fair bit of experience with moving around, I lived in Texas till i was like 12, then I went to Hawaii for three years, then I just came back to Texas about a half year ago. So when I got to my new high school this year it was awkward as hell at first, so I made most of my friends through band and then I made more friends that were in my classes and stuff once the school year started. Sometimes it just takes a little bit to get into the groove of things, so you kinda just have to hang in there a little bit. Its not fun I know, but its just one of lifes necessary endurances when it happens, kinda like if your car runs out of gas on the freeway. If your car hits empty, you wont be feeling good but if you can make it to a gas station and make it back to your car, itll feel pretty good once your back in the car and its running again. I hope that analogy helps a little bit =) . But yeah, in some cases it can be the people who you talk to also, because when I got to my school I was the same way, trying to be outgoing, smiling, being friendly to people, but some people were just like, whatever. Sometimes people just dont care, but the majority of people you meet should be cool.
I think of it this way, its all a matter of placement and timing.
Hopefully I helped in some way or another, if you feel you want to talk more than just message me or whatever. =)
(I agree with what Der Laufer said, clubs and organizations are GREAT ways to meet new people!)

Key Club is a service organization. Far as I know, there are clubs in all 50 states. Maybe your school doesn't have one yet? It's a good club as it gets you involved in your school and community. And you meet a lot of people, too.

They really give you something to kill time with and your friends can join too so it's lots of FUN!! meeting new people and getting the priviledge to do new things. Real FUN!! ^_^
