...if you know the band directors favorite sports team, thier record, what division they're in, and who it freaks him out to see win.
...if you finger along with songs your marching band plays that come on the radio
...for the drumline: if you solo along w/ EVERY song you hear on the radio
... " " ":if you are told more than once in each class to stop drumming on the desk
...your band director accidently gets you and his kid mixed up
...if you can play the show from the year before your freshman year...your senor year

Believe me, band camp tan is nothing compared to Field Hockey tan *shudders*

Anyway
...you can successfully play the opening Melophone solo to "El Toro": when the melophone is not your instrument and the last time it was played was seven years ago
...when your whole family can successfully play every cadence, despite the fact that only two people were percussionists
...you can successfully name every instrument by sound alone
...you and your band friends march in step, down the hall, in a perfectly straight line, and everyone turns the same direction at the end

The last one is quite fun at my school. We take up the whole hallway...and scare the math teachers. Although it's not quite as fun as the Latin classes weaving down the halls, in togas/tunics, blasting traditional Greek dance music while performing said traditional dance. ^_^

The sad thing is? The fact that my family fits those descriptions. The melophone solo was my brother, even my 5 year old cousin knows the cadences.

"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you're up to."

"And God came down from the Heavens, and He said unto the Chicken, 'Thou shalt cross the road.' ...and there was much rejoicing."

Haha, that's sooo true. Just this morning coming in from the student parking lot, I was perfectly in step with my brother (he's also in the marching band.) A lot of times I'm also in step with some of my other band friends. Although, the tanning part, not so much for me...I'm sooo white that I burn, no matter what. Although, I'm a pinkish white while one of the other guard members are even whiter than me xD.

...You're in guard and (I also play the flute in Wind E.) yet you can play the stand tunes on your instrument without looking at any music.
...You randomly sing songs with friends from WE or from marching band
...You like it when people call you "band geeks."
...You don't care if people call you weird or stare at you oddly.
...It's the end of the season and the band director says, "Great job at championships...we have practice tomorrow." And you cheer :D
