Hi.
I signed up for the AP Euro class at my school next year, but I'm not a big history fan. I will most likely end up having the class low on my priorities, getting B's on tests, not spending time reading the textbook or putting a ton of effort into homework, etc. I will probably manage an A because the teacher isn't super hard and its his first year teaching AP Euro.
My question is: by doing this can I still manage a 3 or higher on the AP test even though I won't be trying too hard in the class? The question is pretty much directed at people who have TAKEN the test already (the one a few days ago or in recent years).
To anyone like me who tried more in their other classes and just did enough in the class to get an A: did you find the AP test managable? If so, did you do any outside studying for it since you hadn't been doing much in the class during the year?
when i read this, it completely reminded me how i was in euro. lol, i think u'll manage a 3 easy. all u gotta do is cram like 5 days b4 the test, if ur willing to. if not, then dont bother
Thanks for the reply. Some people on another forum didn't think I should.
Any other opinions are also welcome.
Personally, I did not read a single page of the book, crammed the week before and got a 5. One of my friends did the same exact thing and got a 5 also. I found that as long as I paid attention in class I could get mostly A's on tests. My friend didn't pay attention in class, and I think he ended up with a C, but still got a 5.
One of the other kids in the class read the entire 1500 page book, and got a 4... so trying the hardest may not always be in your advantage.
From personal experience I found the best review book to be Princeton Review

and the best outlines/notes to be apclassnotes.com

I personally don't think anyone should ever join an AP class if they are not willing to work hard...
'cuz it sucks. I slacked off in AP European history and didn't take the test, now i'm kinda regretting it.
do it, I barely tried and easliy made b's, didn't pay attention alot in class, didn't read the book and only read half the review book in the 5 days before i took the test and got an easy 3.
Another friend of mine did the same thing but read the entire review book and got a 5
Thanks again for the opinions, everyone. More are still welcome if there are any out there.
Bernie was invited to his friend's home for dinner. Morris, the host, preceded every request to his wife by endearing terms, calling her Honey, My Love, Darling, Sweetheart, etc. Bernie looked at Morris and remarked, "That is really nice, that after all these years that you have been married, and you keep calling your wife those pet names." Morris hung his head and whispered," To tell the truth, I forgot her name three years ago."----------------------------------Do you look for free wow gold? well with the teacher that i had ap euro was kinda hard. if you slack of and you were in my ap euro class you probably wouldnt pass. first semester i got a c- because i slacked of and second semester i tried and got a b in it.if you took an ap clss before you would probably know that its a lot harder then a cp class and you cant slack off in an ap class liie you can in a cp class.the ap test to mae was kinda hard but i still havent gotten my score yet.take the test i recommend if you have like a b in the class or higher
Well, if you're aiming for a 3, then by all means don't bother. If you want a 4 or above, from looking at the test I wouldn't suggest bothering.

I agree. After two years of AP classes that I just slacked off on, I think I should have an idea. While I passed (barely) AP classes are only for people who are willing to put in the time and effort. Signing up for an AP class is like saying, "I know what is expected of me and will work hard and to the best of my ability." Don't be like me and sign up for the class... 'because you can'. It's a waste of time for both you and the poor teacher.
Might as well just study on your own and take the test.
