question: were the american colonists justified in waging war and breaking away from Britain?
i'm agreeing with the statement.
I have two ideas for paragraphs...but i'm running out of ideas to use for the next one... I have that we weren't being represented in government...and the forced government that was inflicted upon the colonists i.e. royal governor's
can anyone give me more ideas??? thankssssss :)
1.) "Common Sense" I think it was Pain who wrote them, I could be wrong, but they talked about why should "little" England rule "big" America.
2.)British were denying the American traders access to other country's (navigation acts)
3.) Intolerable acts. All the other taxes/acts were somewhat justified by in their creation. And they were about half what the British were paying.
4.) Quartering act. Invasion of Privacy.
thats about all I can think of without research, hope it helps.
But of course they were, they had all the reason(s) to. Britain's salutory neglect wasn't working "The more distance, the less power"
All Britain wanted was to profit economically from the colonies by putting a high tax on all the products they sold.
The colonies had every right and reason to revolt and end the British rule over them.
thanks to both of you for your help! my essay turned out awesome! ;)
