hahaha... brings back fond memories of my APUSH teacher last year. He based all his test questions off the M/C AP test as well. And in not so many words, I hate that bloody book as well.

The upside to having a teacher that uses actual AP questions instead of making them up is that you can use a certified AP study book to get quick study time in. I mean to say, if you haven't already go out and buy an APUSH Study Guide. They're really nicely laid out with the answers in plain sight, none of this "tell the story" rubbish that the Pageant does.

I highly recommend ... book--I used it last year and it helped me a lot because the facts are so clearly organized and you can pick it up and study whenever without having to haul around a binder of notes. The practice exams are useful towards the end of the year as well.

Otherwise, for some quick online studying, take the practice tests off the . Or, use this study site for extra tests. It's very, very helpful.

Well, I think Soozin hit most of the practice test stuff and I HIGHLY recommend taking her advice.

In addition to this, I recommend reviewing the notes here on course-notes and, if you highlight your book, SKIM through your highlights. Don't dwell on it, just enough to refresh your memory.

Wait, would you be referring to attacking the TEXTbook with highlighter, or the AP study book? No amount of color would make the textbook interesting... and besides, most of us don't own ours. :p

What I do to study for the multiple choice questions for my test, which are AP based, they correlate with the Am. Pageant, etc, is highlight what I think sounds like a test question when I am reading it. This becomes easy to do because if you have been taking 1 or 2 tests a week like we have you start to notice a pattern in what they are looking for. Sometimes they even use the exact wording in the correct answer for a question. That aspect of if may or may not help you on the exam, but I have found, in taking a practice exam, that the questions are exactly like the questions for multiple choice section of all our tests. I even recognized one of the questions as being identical to a question on a previous chapter test.

Yes, I think the highlight mentioned was in reference to highlighting the actual textbook. Although owning the text book is not necessary, I find that being able to highlight it has helped me tremendously! I do each chapter in a different color and it looks really cool, haha. But anyway, if you can't highlight, then just write down the sentence that pops out at you on a piece of paper.

You could also try looking up questions/quizzes online, and answering them. It really helps me. Or do IDs. It just puts everything into context for me.
