My teacher gave us the oppertunity to buy a "Flagg Book" she calls it but it real name is: "United States History - Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination" I am now starting to read that one more than the textbook, the American Pageant, and my grades on tests have improved from an avg. of 70% to 89%. Hahahaha, i'm about to take a test on the Civil War, I haven't started DBQ's yet but i feel ready becuase of the book.

books??.......i like books................on tape, lol.

but seriously books sometimes do give useless info like adminchris said. but if you're in AP classes you really should be smart enough to sort out what's junk and what is useful information. but personally i hate reading the American Pageant and i just pay attention in class and hope thats enough when tests come up. most of the time it is but theres that occasional day the teacher talks about the test and says," well i didnt go over that but its in your book." on those days you're pretty much outa luck. but studying is a good factor to think about whether it's boring or not.

I average a 66% on tests, and i use the outlines, pratices tests...etc. I hate reading the book, so i dont. IF i just copy the outlines, it takes me about a hour and a half. If i read and take notes, try 3-4 hours. so............SCREW THE TEXTBOOK

There is your problem: Read the book. Welcome to AP US HISTORY. You are going to have to work harder.
