I need help with the 1993 DBQ, its due tomorrow!!! AHHH!!!

Okay so I know a lot of people have posted about this DBQ but I was wondering if anyone had any additional information I could use? The question is from the 1993 DBQ:

Although New England and the Chesapeake region were bothe settled largely by people of English origin, by 1700 the regions had evolved into two distinct societies. Why did this difference occur?

Any help that anyone can give to me at all would be much appreciated. Please!!!

I actually had to write the same one last month. I found organizing the differences between the two regions by splitting them into categories of social, economic, and political factors to be helpful. Some ideas I used were the reasons why people wanted to settle in either place, climate, social interaction between the people, and the effects of social status/wealth. Hope this was somewhat helpful. :)

Thanks so much for the help. I had no idea how to organize it so that it would be easier to write about, but your idea with the categories seems helpful. Plus you mentioned some things I hadn't considered. Thanks again.

How'd it go, just out of curiosity?

I think it went okay. I will post my score tomorrow, when I get it back. But considering it was my first DBQ ever, I think it went well.

What is a dbq?

A DBQ is a document based question. Basically they give you a subject such as the above question and you must use your own knowledge and refer to some of the documents they give you to support your statements.
