Hi, my name's Bonnie. :)
Am also a junior. Haha, unfortunately I voluntarily signed up for this class. Good news is I'm managing a high B in here, so hopefully after a few good test and quiz grades, I'll scrape an A. I just really really hate reading and outlining these chapters.

Can anyone reccomend a good way to read through these chapters? Perhaps a way that saves one a lot of time?

hey i'm Amanda
i am a student in need! i know that it's my fault but i got myself into AP/IB US History (higher level) and i'm doomed. my class grade is ok but that's not my problem we don't do anything in class, i learn nothing. the teacher just keeps on assigning these rediculously long reading assignments from packets, the book, online, and if he could find another place to give us reading from trust me we'd read from there too. the reading does help, but it's too long to do it all and he doesn't even colect it so i wind up putting it second priority to work that i actually hand in. i havn't retained anything thing from this year which is a surprise because in the past i've been a good at learning in a class were the teacher doesn't teach. i'm at a dead end. i don't want to fail the IB/AP test at the end of the year. help me please!

Well, I signed up this winter and I'm not sure I'll do so well. I'm bad at history too. However, all of my upperclass friends took it and they said it's more a matter of doing the classwork and taking good notes than talent. They also said the only people who failed the class or the exam were the ones who didn't try.

Yeah, you should be fine as long as you put effort into it.

this stupid topic still pollutes my google search results I can't believe I would worry about something so stupid the ap test was just like any other test

history blows btw

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it, as it is required for graduation.

Being in Ap us History for the first time is a real eyeopener.
Its very difficult for me and I am constantly studying, but no results come forth.
I try so hard and study lioke crazy but never seem to prevail.

Its an awesome opportunity to get a college credit and to see what college classes could potentially be but I dont think i can do it anymore!

HELP!!!

Okay katielarowe, the first thing is to just relax. If you're stressed then you're brain doesn't work as well. A little stress is fine, but if you start getting into the stage where you're going "omg, I have to do this, and this, and I have to do that when I'm doing this" and you're going 90 mph and you start to stop sleeping as much or as well....then you have a problem.

I think you may need to rethink the way you study. If you feel like you study and study and study and never learn anything, try studying in a new place, or try using a new study method.

Oh, and most college classes are more like "here's the book, here are the test dates, here are when your assignments are due, I'll be here lecturing, you know what you have to do when". So it's much less of the busy work that high school has.

Just hang in there, do something you like everyday to relax, and try to change it up sometimes. This semester is almost over, so a break is coming
