First take your book then read it really fast, but actually understand it.
Second, go back and highlight.
Third, go back and read all your highlights.
Also, make sure you read the pictures and its dialogues boxes, they can help you a bit to understand.

Another good trick to do while reading the book is to ask yourself questions while you read the text. Sort of like; well, I know that African-Americans had difficuties settiling into life during Reconstruction, but in what ways did they easily adapt? and stuff like that. At the very least it should help you to remember facts better. There were also some old threads about this, but I don't know if they're still around...

Need Notes?

While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!
