in your opinion which of these (language, trade, or religion) tied the american colonies together best?
and
which of these (slavery, anglican church, or fishing) best showed the presence of england in all the colonies?
id love you if you helped me out
i'd have to say that language tied the colonies together cause they mostly spoke english but their trades and religions varied a lot
the anglican church showed the presence of england in the colonies
i think maybe
I'd agree with dabigrig; language was definately tied them together, but maybe also trade? I mean, they must have traded amongst themselves, too, right? But then if you think about it, even though they all had so many diverse religions, a lot them came to America to express those religious beliefs, so that may actually be one of the strongest ties (even if they were somewhat hypocritical about it).
And I'd definately think the Angelican church, also.
The Rig is right. The english language was pretty much the only thing the colonies had in common.
I really think it was the trade. As you mentioned, every colony had different trade specialties, so they needed things from another colony, and the dependence on one another grew.
