Why had the Jeffersonian Republicans, by 1815-1824, adopted many of the principles of "loose construction" once held by Hamiltonian Federalists? What kinds of strong federal power did the Republican use, and what kinds were they still reluctant to employ?
I kno it has something to do with nationalism and how the greater good of the country subordinated strict constitutional interpretation, but im having problems finding specific examples?
