Examine the role of women in the Progressive era. Show how their efforts were largely focused in areas consistent with their social roles as protectors and nurturers of the family. Argue whether women's activism for these maternal issuses helped or hindered the feminist movement.

Women from mostly the middle class entered in professional careers. But necessity changed their careers to teaching; about two thirds of teachers were women.
Remember that women couldn't vote or hold goverment positions. Women went to work rather than staying home and still oversaw the things around the house; They also had fewer children than what their grandmothers had.
Women having more access to education enabled them to be in more reform and fight for what they wanted-especially the suffrage movement.
Women also formed many clubs like the Women's Trade Union Leageu, the GFWC. They concentrated more on social betterment than cultural activities.
You have talk about women's suffrage movement and the 19th amendment.
You may also include that women were againts alcoholism because it usually caused violence and the 18th amendment.

what do ya'll think about this thesis statement:

Women in the Progressive era basically had a goal for their childs generation if not theirs to have the right to vote and hold government position and earn their education; instead of living a life where you couldn't really do anything.

i need help u guyz..thanks in advance

With more access to education and an effort to improve their situation, women began to fight for their future and generations to come.

That could be one.
