Is it acceptable to only have two body paragraphs in an essay? The paragraphs were still analytical. The essay at hand was one in which the prompt asked to analyze two factors regarding one issue. I didnt just take these issues and write a paragraph on each. I used two body paragraphs which incorporated both of the factors into each paragraph.

Two paragraphs is perfectly acceptable. The schools just shove that whole 5 paragraph essay thing down your throat so that everyone writes enough, but if you know how to do it you can write two paragraphs, and sometimes, like the situation you had, three body paragraphs just isn't necessary.
