" You Can Teach Yourself History!"

I need some serious help.. My teacher claims that "You can teach yourself history!", so every class we just read the textbook. If anyone has a question our teacher just tells us we need to look for the answer in our textbook. I not learning ANYTHING. We don't do any assignments, quizes, tests, class discussions... I bought the princeton APUSH review book, which has helped me learn alot better. Does anyone have any advice they could give me? I have never taken an AP course before, so I flying blind here. How can I teach myself so much? Should I just move down reagents?

Thanks

Wow- so what is the purpose of the teacher? What does the teacher do? I would complain to the principal or have your parents. Without having a teacher for an AP class makes it incredibly difficult. Classroom debates and discussions are one of the best ways to learn the material
