Separation of church and state does NOT legally exist
There has been a great amount of debate about the theory and practice of Church and State on this debate board as well as in the society of today. I wanted to inform and enlighten everyone whom views this thread that it does not exist. If you search through every binding document such as the Declaration of Independence or the United States Constitution, you will not be able to find it. This separation of Church and State is only found in a private letter by President Thomas Jefferson and has no legal grounds to govern the nation. The first amendment states there will be a freedom of religion where no official religion will be established. This does not mean that the government can not fund a church or help out with a church charity nor does this mean that the government can not have the ten commandments in the Supreme court or other localized court levels with the nation. I am always open to debate, but I wanted to set the record and make it perfectly clear that the separation of Church and State does not legally exist.:)
