DBQ help on the turn of the 20th century

ok hi, y'all, the prompt is:
To what extent was the late 19th century and early 20th century United states expansionism a continuation of past united states expansionism and to what extent is it a departure?
so---- i think its asking how is the expansion at the turn of the 20th century the same and different compared to like--- the mexican war/mainifest destiny stuff, right? ---but that's really annoying info to find.
i don't even know why exactly we wanted to get more land during TR's time. can some one please help me? just a little? just tell me SOMETHING that you know! please? i'll love you then and like, help you with some of your hw or something if i can- i dunno, im just stuck.
arrgh. thx -leeya
