204113678 | Neolithic Revolution | Who: A period of time when humans decided to go for a more reliable source of food. What: A rapid time of change when humans switched from hunting and gathering to farming crops, domesticating animals, and creating permanent settlements. It provided more food for an increasing population. When: Between 8,000 B.C.E. and 5,000 B.C.E. Where: Affected Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North China, Latin America, and the Eastern United States. Why: Important because of two reasons. One, since there was an increasing population, people needed new, more reliable sources of food, and agriculture was very reliable. Two, because the Ice Age killed off many large animals, such as the woolly mammoth, hunter and gatherer tribes began settling for smaller game, as well as being dependent on wild grains, berries, and nuts. | 0 | |
