Government Once structured as an iron triangle (agency, committee, and IG) but recently more of a switch to issue network (IG, congressional staff, universities and think-tanks) Executive office of the president Cabinet Ex. structure of Secretary of Defense Department Secretary of Defense on top, delegates power to people below him, who delegate to people below them, thus many mini triangles of power Independent agencies (NASA, FEMA-demoted to Homeland Security Department but then moved back to independent agency after Hurricane Katrina)
