The key to doing well before an exam is to study before the exam and not cramming the night before, get plenty of sleep and relax during the exam. In terms of food, you don't want anything that will give you gas or make you feel uncomfortable. Avoid too much caffiene or avoid caffiene in general - that includes "energy" drinks. Those drinks will make you jittery and your mind will not be able to focus.
