Three factors: Economic Social Demographic Gross domestic product per capita, economic structure, worker productivity, access to raw materials, & availability of consumer goods. The average individual earns a much higher income in an MDC than in an LDC. The typical worker receives $10 to $15 per hour in MDCs, compared to less than $1 per hour in LDCs. GDP - Dividing the GDP by total pop. measures the contribution the average individual makes to generating a country?s wealth in a year. Ex: The GDP in the US is currently about $10 trillion & its pop. is about $34,000.
