Emily Paolini Period 6 Art journal 8/15/12 Chapter 3 art journal Subject Matter- Subject- What does the work depict? Who is depicted in the work? The image on the left depicts Khafre Ka as an enthroned divine ruler with a perfect body. This statue represents the ruler Khafre Ka, fourth ruler of the fourth dynasty, or Old Kingdom. The figure on the right depicts a statue used to embody spirits that can heal or inflict harm. This large standing statue depicts a man bristling with nails and blades that a trained priest blessed using detailed ritual formulas. Function- (WHY) Was the work created?
