NEUROIMAGING TECHNIQUE INFORMATION Basically? Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Uses a magnetic field and radio waves to produce detailed pictures of the body's organs and structures- Soft tissue/density in other parts of body Differs from a CAT scan (also called a CT scan or a computed axial tomography scan) because it doesn't use radiation Brain structure Electroencephalogram (EEG) Recording of electrical currents across brain surface Brain activity Computed Tomography (CT/CAT) scan Takes X-ray photos to reveal brain damage CANNOT SHOW TISSUES JUST OVERALL STRUCTURE Just shows where something is Computerized Brain architecture/blueprint Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan Shows blood flow
