Dimensional Analysis Applied to Unit Conversions (Make conversions among English units and Metric units) Write down the unit equality for the units you need to convert Write down the conversion factors corresponding to the unit equality Use a symbol to represent the unknown quantity in the problem. (Put this symbol on the left side of the equal sign) Write the given information on the right side of the equal sign and multiply by one of the conversion factors. Choose the correct conversion factor by performing dimensional analysis. Units should cancel to give the desired unit. Units that are the same in the given measurement and below the fraction bar cancel from the equation.
