Ramses mortuary temple is carved into the stone and is on one level contrary to Hatshepsut?s temple. There are four enormous carvings of an idealized Ramses, common to the time of the Old Kingdom pharaohs. These statues, made large enough to make the viewer feel humble in comparison, portray the power and significance of Ramses. A carving of Ra, situated above the entrance to the temple, depicts Ramses as god-like. The inside entrance is lined with smaller statues of Ramses wife, Nefertari, and other members of his family. The architect also added in another feature to the temple to put even greater significance on Ramses power.
