9-24-13. Period 6, ROUGH DRAFT. Handprints in the mirrors, footsteps on the stairs, mysterious smells, vanishing objects, death by poison, hangings, gunfire, adultery, and murder are just some of the words that one would use when describing the Myrtle Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana . Hello, my name is Claire Wertz. When I was in eighth grade, my Louisiana history teacher had told stories of her encounter with the Myrtle House, which in turn, peaked my curiosity for the subject. When talking about old southern Louisiana plantations, the Myrtle house is easily the most popular. Why? Well, that's what I am here to tell you about. Today I will take you from the very beginning of the plantation to present day events.
