In the memoir "On dumpster diving" Lars Eisihner accounts his time as a 'scrounger.' He uses situational irony, word choice, and imagery in this piece to highlight the difference between what is expected of a person when they are homeless and live out of dumpsters. Throughout the piece, Lars emphasizes the high level of education he has, when he discusses Merriam-Webster, he talks about the research he put into the simple capitalization of the word, something that seems so insignificant.
