What does the Large Hadron Collider do? Through the Large Hadron Collider scientist can learn about the tiniest particles of matter by means of collisions and acceleration. Describe the structure of the Large Hadron Collider. The LHC is a ring tunnel that is 27 km long. It is made mainly out of superconducting magnets and is located 100m underground on the border between France and Switzerland. Describe at least two things scientists hope to accomplish with the LHC experiments. Scientist hope that the collisions will create particles that have never been observed. They also hope to be able to detect what dark matter particles are made of (Physicist currently have some ideas but they are undetectable as of now). Complete the following table: Fundamental Force Description
