Crucible with a lid ? Balance ? Clay triangle ? Bunsen burner ? ? Crucible Tongs Procedure: 1. Rinse your crucible and lid with water and dry thoroughly using a paper towel. 2. Suspend crucible and cover in clay triangle and heat with bunsen burner for roughly 2-3 minutes. 3. Remove with crucible tongs and let it cool for about 1-2 minutes. Measure the mass of the crucible and lid. 4. Place about 4 grams (3.5-4.5 grams) of your hydrated crystal in the crucible, cover, and record the mass.
