Function: Wraps & cushions organs; its macrophages phagocytize bacteria; plays important role in inflammation. Location: directly underneath epithelial tissue, part of membranes, packages organs, and surrounds capillaries.	0

Function: Energy storage, insulates against heat loss and supports and protects organs.
