The First Golden Rule of Fashion
Whoever said ‘what you wear doesn’t matter’ was indeed a fool, because what you wear does matter, it mattered back in our parents’ parent’s time and it matters now and will continue to matter in the generations to come.
I’ve come up with basic ‘must consider’ of fashion in order to ‘dress to impress’ in your personal and professional life. For those dreading the ‘fashion police’ you can relax- as this are not- as you continue to read’- designed to change you drastically and traumatically. For those looking for something new- in my two new blogs, you’ll find tips you may want to consider while going through your wardrobe next time. The two keywords are: Modesty and Color.
For now we will deal with the first one.
1. Modesty.
Yes, the idea seems outdated as ever. Perhaps that is the reason why this very basic principle of fashion has been long put out if not completely forgotten. Modesty and respect almost comes hand in hand. You’ll find that as you strive to dress appropriately in all manners of occasion, casual or not, self respect is almost an automatic outcome. A person’s regard of one’s self shows in no way better than the manner of his/her clothing.
Women will find that you can dress bold with clothes that give and enhance your figure without showing too much skin, and also bring about class and elegance by choosing dresses or shirts with a scooped and v-neck that doesn’t necessarily show the cleavage.
There are so many ways modesty can be achieved while still looking your best. Leggings with your skirts, shirts with prints, layers- the possibilities are endless and for both genders, it gives an incredible boost with one’s self-esteem, giving you the right amount of confidence needed for success. Girls, high school is a time to expand your wardrobe as you find out what’s cool and what’s not, so if you are the first one among your peers, choose to dress with respect for yourself and the others will come to respect you. For the women who’ve already established what’s your idea of in and out, this is the time to remember that your choice of clothing can give you a refresh and younger feel, but still feel old enough of your capability in your professional work! And guys, though the standards aren’t quite as high, remember that modesty isn’t only about how much skin is showing or not, it’s also about tidiness. Choose clothing that reflects a good mind and manner to achieve respect in work and home life.
