I know everyone has heard of the well known Ivy League colleges; Harvard,Princeton,Dartmouth,Brown etc.
All though these schools are prestigous they might not be the fit for everyone. When it comes to choosing the right college prestige is not the only factor that needs to be taken into consideration. Many parents try to influence their children to attend the college that they attended. What many parents don't realize however is that when they applied it was not as competitive. If your parents insist on buying you a nice Princeton sweater you should politely decline. Other important factors you should take into consideration are acceptance rate, graduation rate, student life, etc. When you go to college you should feel at home. College is a place you should make lasting friends and have the best time of your life. When you become a part of an Ivy League school it becomes hard to stand out. In my opinion you just become another "A" student amonge all of the other valedictorians. Just remember when you choose the college to spend the remainder of your education, choose it for the right reasons.
