Walter moves there to pursue his drawing master career. The Asylum was a private asylum in London that Sir Percival locks up Anne Catherick to keep her from revealing his secret. When Laura and Sir Percival Glyde get married, their honeymoon is in Italy. Themes One of the themes in ?The Woman in White? is the emphasis of the few legal rights for Woman?s protection in England. Laura Farlie was robbed of her identity, and switched with Anne Catherick. Also Laura?s inheritance was robbed by her husband, Sir Percival Glyde. He persuaded her into signing a contract for him to have all of her inheritance.
