Golding?s use for symbols such as Piggy?s glasses, the conch, and the beast, show how the boys have adapted to their new environment and ways. The book is about how these boys, when ripped away from their civilizations, can become ruthless and harmful beings in the absence of rules or a social structure. Throughout the book,each of these symbols bring out a different aspect of humanity.
