Do you have to be exceptional at Art (drawing/painting) to get into a good Art College...or something......I want to major in Character Design in Animation/Gaming....so I can join that industry......

-Also is anybody a good Artist......?

-Or does somebody have tips for improving drawing skills? (other than practice....i seem to have trouble getting off the level I am at....maybe I should take drawing and painting for starters :p )

Thx

If your wanting character design and animation, then your "art" skills rely more on the computer and not freehand. But to answer you question, some college do require a example of your "artistic" skills before they accept you. For instance I know digipen does.

And please post in the correct topic, thanks. *Moved*

i c cool....im not really using any of those tools....my only art related class is an after school animation class....do u think I have a chance in applying in fairly good art school....if i haven't takin any art classes or if my drawing is a 3 on a scale of 1-10....?

.....I doubt it, I've been focusing on the core requirements for too long....maybe its too late to change my direction....maybe vocational art school or something.....

ok i go to an art high school, and major in art at my school and we get art colleges coming and talking to us, for animation u do need to be able to show some skill because in animation the animators always spend lots of time studying and drawing their subjects before the animation, like in nemo the would of had to study fish and their movements,

I think that also they mainly look at potential
