Media Player Problem

silentdragonzx's picture

Hmmmm...well I currently have a computer....and when it plays videos with codecs it goes out of sync....like the sounds don't match with the picture....
also the sound skips too.....

-This occured when I wanted to watch an MKV video file. However I did not have the correct software. So I downloaded the Matroska Video Pack...to view it. I found that pack was not very good and I found a Combined Community Codec Pack.

-I followed their instructions and erased all of the MKV pack.

-However it still has the same problem. On my other computer the Codec pack works fine with MKV files.....

-So yeah ummm.....what is up? Did I forget to totally get rid of the MKV pack? If I did how do I get rid of it?

-Maybe its the registry but I don't know....need some help....but not immediately like I would for U.S history questions.....

Have you tried right-clicking on the file and going into summary, and then advanced? There should be general info along with a comment section (if any comments) and you might be able to find what codec is required for the file if any is needed. It could also be a simple as a corrupted video file. If you have ever noticed in p2p programs such as limewire, files are occasionally corrupted during transfer.

Hope this helps.

What're the stats on this computer? Is it generally older than your other computer?

AP US History - 5
AP Computer Science AB - 3
AP Psychology - Pending...
