XBOX 360 vs. PS3

Which one are you getting? Which one do you think is better? Why?

the ps3 has a lot of good stuff such as the blu-ray discs which are the next generation of video and gaming. They hold about 20 GB of info and the dual layer ones hold about 50 GB which means there are some intence graphics going on. The only problem is that the data access times are quite slow compared to a regular dvd. the ps3 also features Bluetooth compatibility. Its a really nice system. I really like the XBOX 360 better because of the similar features to the ps3 with added stuff. The XBOX 360 features a bigger internal capacity hardrive along with Windows XP Media Center expander. This makes the 360 an all out gaming and multimedia system. It also features tri core processor which basically tops Athalon 64 XD and the Pentium X which are the two fastest processors available for consumers. The ps3 however features a processor equivalent to the current intel celeron processor which is pretty good for a new gaming console but does not come an inch close to the XBOX 360's processor. The only drawback I see so far for the XBOX 360 is the discs that it will be using. Microsoft is planning to use only dual-layer DVD discs to support the graphics that the XBOX 360 will harnessing. THe game files will be compressed into a different format so that the DVD disc can contain the same amount of data as the ps3's blueray disc. All this info i got from my cousin who works for microsoft. I will provide more info on the new systems and there tech specs. Unti then... Thats all folks.

blue ray is whats holdin ps3 back at the moment planned dual us/ euro launch moved euro back to summer 08 planned 1 mill for us launch only delivered 400k due to complications with the blu ray laser. blu ray is so new that the parts are hard to come by therby limiting production and raising the price because of supply and demand. while nintendo can produce 200k wii's a week and ship them to the U.S.

What's picture

I personaly believe that Sony should have waited untill the next, next-gen era to include blu-ray technology into a system. All that is happening right now is having to shell out $600 for a system with, basically, a wasted feature. Blu-ray may be the future, but it's that, the future, not the present.

I have an Xbox 360 and love it. But I don't get how you say the PS3 has more good games. The games Ps3 has are the same ones Xbox 360 has and there are only a handful of good titles on PS3 like Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, and the soon to be Haze. But they have no Halo, no BioShock, no Mass Effect, no Gears of War, along with several other exclusive titles...I think you guys are seriously underestimating the Xbox 360. it also plays stuff other than games too, thats why you can play DVDs and Music on it, plus it has its own online rental service where you can rent HD movies. So if you ask me thats a fair amount more than games. sure the PS3 may have more advanced technology like its processor but..haha i know its not very portable. that things massive.
anyway. in a nutshell:

Xbox 360. awww yeeeaahh
PS3. ew..

Dude, the PS3 library is worth more than that! You're forgetting Ratchet & Clank Future: ToD, Folklore, Metal Gear Solid 4, FFXIII, and Unreal T3. But otherwise, Heavenly Sword is just pretty graphics on a crappy God of War ripoff--don't try defending that--and Haze doesn't really stand out to be in any case. Ratchet and Clank I heard was sweet, Unreal T3 and Uncharted are definitely worth it, MGS4 and FFXIII and DMC4 are matters of personal taste for me but they are hopefully awesome if very delayed games, and Folklore is very solid. Moving on, online rental service? DVDs and Music? Unless it starts having Microsoft Word and Solitaire, it makes either my laptop or the PS3 a really expensive paperweight.

Xbox360 ftw. Online domination paired with CoD4, Halo 3, and Guitar Hero 3 online battles? Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Oblivion for that RPG thirst? There went my social life. :o
