Hey guys and girls, im writing my first essay and its in class for this Tuesday. Heres the topic:
Did life in the colonies up to 1750 reflect the values of freedom, justice, equality and republican government as was claimed by 1776? Consider social, economic, and political experiences of the colonists.
Ive decided that they didnt reflect this. Can you guys give me some suggestions on the social, economic, and political history i could include?

Freedom- Slavery was still rampant, workers still had little or no rights (I guess that doesn't really matter until the Industrial revolution though), I'd look this up but- indentured servitude?
Equality- There were very distinct classes of people. Generally there were the wealthy, the tradesmen and the poor. Even later after the Constitution was ratified there were still people who could vote, people who couldn't, and people who weren't even considered people.
