Someone already posted this DBQ topic up, but was not clear enough of what that person needed help.

"By the 1850's the constitution originally framed as an instrument of national unity, had become a source of sectional discord and temsion and ultimately contributed t othe failure of the union it had created"

"Using the documents and your knowledge of the period 1850-1861, assess the validity of this statement."

I have trouble answering this topic if the constitution was a failure or a success.

Plus, I have provided some of the documents.
