Well, I'm not sure if God's in the tutoring business, but you always have course-notes :).

I've never taken AP Art History, sorry I can't describe it.

I'm currently taking AP Art History for my junior year and i have to say that of all my AP class this is my easiest class. I find it really enjoyable even though the art textbook is literally ten pounds. It may seen hard and demanding to memorize to all of the art works but all that you really need to know and remember are the famous paintings, well known artists and their technique and styles. The majority of the time, the well-known ones will be on the ap exam in may.

I'm currently taken AP Art History and so far I can say it has been very interesting. Maybe it's because i'm a history junky, but the class has (so far) been one of the best i've ever taken.

These two are perhaps not the best description of art history. I remember studying EASILY 9-10 hours the ngiht before unit exam nights and sometimes barely scratching the surface of the material.

If you REALLY love to read, by all means this class will be easy for you.

If you are somewhat normal, and prefer not having the more reading than all of your junior and senior english classes combined...well let me put it this way...

It's bad. Think Dante's Inferno bad.

I'm not sure about AP Art History in High School, but I know Art History in college is supposed to be really hard.

It covers 30,000 years of history. You not only have to be able to identify the art work (name, artist, findspot, current location, culture, dates), but you must be able to comment on the stylistic characteristics about the work. You will also be required to compare artwork; i.e. similarities & differences, development of style, etc. Part of the requirement of the exam and the course is that you develop the skills to discuss the work in written form weaving fact or commentary with analysis. It is a great way to improve your writing skills, develop a confidence on making an analysis based on visual observation, but best of all it is a study of the creative religion, philosophy, mythology, ideas, passions, and expression of all humankind.

I'm pretty much agreeing with mhensler. I'm also a junior, who's taking AP Art History this year. Coming into an AP class for the first time, I didn't know what would be expected of me, or how it'd turn out. The overall difficulty of the class depends on who the teacher is and what school you go to.

For some students at my school, they think it's a breeze; a sure easy class for them. Me, on the other hand, it's kind of difficult. The class forces you to be able to memorize information, dates, and certain genres of the art you're studying. It's hard work, but i'm sure it'll be worth it in the end when I take the AP exam in may.

AP Art History? I'm taking it right now. It's great! I'm not even an art person but if you listen carefully and keep up your good to go (I've taken 3 AP classes previous to this one and this is by far the easiest one).
