AP Slave Signing In

Hello everyone! I'm Sam. I'm kind of sad that I didn't join the forums here until this close to my AP exam, but ah, well. Such is life.

I'm a high school sophomore, living in Maryland, and my big pain in the arse for this year is A.P. U.S. History. I joined this site for the extra test and quiz practice questions and found a whole forum inside! I'm not a stranger to forums - I frequent a Potter-related one. I'm a soprano in chorus, a ballet student, and a musical theatre participant at school. I love anything HP, Firefly, or Star Wars related, as well as pretty much anything to do with English history (my school doesn't offer AP Euro, sadly) or general literature. I've studied French, German, and Latin, and this summer I'll be visiting Beijing, China (excited!), and will hopefully pick up a little bit of the language there (hopefully - heh). Hope to get to know some people here and, even if the APUSH exam is close, to get to know more of you next year, when I'll have four AP classes to worry about (Calc I, English, Government, and Physics).

Hope to meet some of you!

-Sam

The only other marylander I've seen here. Friends call me Nek but my real name is Jack. I'm in calvert county myself, and I go to Huntingtown High School. As far as my nickname, it was originally a joke becuase I'm a conservative christian but every character I've ever used on RPGs has been a dark elf necromancer tending to be a level of evil so unholy that most players try to kill me or run from me (polar opposite of myself actually). One of my friends saw me online and started that nickname around school.I guess I'm used to it now though...such is life.

Anyway, I'm taking 4 ap classes next year (APCOMPSCI, APBio, APenglish, and APGov) , I'm currently a sophomore, and I infrequently speak in olde English to throw people off, just for fun.I'm also a bit of a band geek, but I'm proud to join the ranks of the coolest people in our school (our marching band is awesome).

BTW, Firefly and Starwars are totally awesome!

Jack Jack, is that you?! It's Sam (you know, from Physics)! I didn't know you liked Firefly.

Yes, its me. Blacker is the one who saw me online, thus starting the whole nickname thing.I frequent these forums, the Elderscrolls official forums, and the forums of the dead. As for Firefly, I got into it about a year ago, and was totally pissed that it only had like 11 episodes. Hands down the best major network sci-fi show since Star Trek (which I watch periodically on G4). Rumors a few months ago had Firefly possibly slated to be continued, but no word on that yet. Unless they already have, then I need a time and channel number.

Welcome to the site. I agree with you about firefly, ended way before its time. You should buy or rent the series though, there are like 6 or so more episodes that never made it on the air. Feel free to ask questions or to post some random stuff in the off-topic thread (always fun:p ). Hope to see you around next year and the end of this one.:o

Oh, and which star trek do you watch? Cause if it's the Enterprise series. Well, that's too bad...

Yeah, for star trek yah gotta stick with the Voyager and older Enterprise (with Piccard) ones. I'm more of a Star Wars junkie, though a good friend is a major trekkie. We get into SW/ST fight all the time...

So true. Can't stand that new one. Just propaganda for Bush if you ask me...

I like the older enterprise with Captain Jean Luke Picard (also oblivion's emperor Uriel Septim the VIII). Newer series is ok, but older enterpirse is the coolest.

You just can't beat the originals. Also, there just id less leeway for the new series: because of all the conflicts in the first series, there is on;y so much originality allowed...bah

You mean like no vulcan crew members, no knowledge of tribbles (that one could have helped kirk eh?), and limited knowledge of alien remedies?

But really, I think they could have made it work. Just make most of the adventures about vulcans and klingons and such that kirk had contact with, but hey, that's just my thoughts.

I agree, actually. Also, how can you have a ST series without Klingons? Or Vulcans, for that matter. They need new people to help produce it, with new ideas so they don't constantly try (unsuccesfully) to fall back on the older series for support...
