Film Noir Fridays!!

So a group of my friends and I started Film Noir Fridays- we all dress up on Fridays as characters from old 30's and 40's Film Noir movies ( for those of you who dont know what that is- think the old detective movies from that era and you kind of have an idea). Its so amazing- we go all out head to toe! But this isnt the first "day" we've had tidy tuesday (all the guys wear ties and nice shirts) tie-dye tuesdays (self explanitory i should think) and many others... But i was wondering does anyone else do stuff like this? and if you do what do you guys do?

Lol well we acutally sadly, take it pretty seriously, we're nerds so we really get into character and use it as an excuse to "play dress up" - but then again nothing we do is that wierd cause we are performers and all so people are used to it lol.... i found a couple of the last Film Noir day pictures still looking for the group one we took that looks like it came striaght out of a movie... but for now... (oh p.s. different thread i know but the white suit thing very cool and i think kinda fitting here lol)

Wow- that is pretty darn impressive! We don't have specific days of the week when we dress up- we'll have "spirit weeks" that have a theme, and each day has a specific way you're supposed to dress up. One time it was centered around our shcool's multi-cultural assembly, and we had Heritage Day, Wacky Tacky day (it's always in there, regardless if it fits in with the theme or not...), Red and Gold day (like the Wacky Tacky day, this one is always a part of 'em since those are the shcool colors), Decades day, and one other one that I can't remember...
But yeah, we'll have these maybe twice a quarter. They start to get cliched after a while, though, or no one does them anymore.

lol ummm not really What, but then again why not? haha

Yeah Xena i think that if it was an actual school thing then it would get cliched, but since we make them up when we get bored with them they just turn into something new... lol the things we do to entertain ourselves... it acutally started remembering the "Days" we had in grammer school (ya know crazy hair day, pajama day, we were bringing it back lol

We had spirit days, but other than that there wasn't much. We did wear our science olympiad shirts on the days before events though. And the basketball team had to dress in nice suits on game days. They looks sharp too.

We got to choose out spirit days too, although they wouldn't let us have princess/GI Joe day. The only reason we could figure was that too many guys would show up in dresses, but that was just our guess. :p

Yeah, my school has this stupid cross-dressing rule...:D
The sports teams generally have to dress up the day before a match or whatever, (so does ACADECA). The sprirt weeks have gotten boring mainly because only about an eighth of the school dresses up- and those that do tend to feel stupid because they dressed up...but I like the idea of film noir...

haha so basically with by sheer word of mouth and i guess example we have made this idea catch like wildfire at school- to the point where now on Fridays it looks like our school belongs in the 30s and 40s
It so cool! Gotta love the drama kids- no lie we're pretty amazing, i even got all my AP friends to do it too... just thought i'd let it be known...
