I am not sure how much there is to get.

It is supposed to be a guide for your writing when you write about poetry. I guess it could extend to other areas of your writing as well.

In higher lever poetry the author will use less adjetives to describe things, and will use words to give things multiple meanings. Generally, if you are talking about DIDLS you are not focusing on the smaller devices the author uses. (i.e Metaphors, personification, etc.) Try to focus on what the author is implying through tone. If you need any help I can post some examples.

Need Notes?

While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!
