We're having this discussion in class about the "effectiveness the abolitionist movement had on fulfilling the goals of the Declaration of Independence" and I can't seem to set my mind straight on the actual GOALS of the Dec.
I know the main goal was to set up individual liberty and separate from Great Britain but I don't know any good point to bring up that could connect with The Abolitionist movement.
Any help? :D

The abolitionist act was actually the anti-slavery act so it imposed the declaration's statement of ALL being equal and deserve to receive the same justice and rights/freedoms.
Surely the declaration was for the independance of the Americas from Britain, but it was a call for equality in representation and liberty for all...which was what the anti-slaves wanted for all the African Americans living in the Americas ^_^
I hope I've been able to help you with your question...
