Crime - anything the criminal law defines as illegal Criminal procedure - a vast system of laws and guidelines that detail how suspected and accused criminals are to be processed and handled by the criminal justice system Defendant - the individual charged with committing a crime Tort - a private wrong or injury Tort-feasor - a person who commits a private wrote or injury Punishment - the infliction of unpleasant consequences on an offender
