6449213017Wendell L. WillkieA lawyer present at the Philadelphia Convention that ran against Roosevelt as a republican, although previously being democratic. He was an outspoken liberal and criticized the New Deal's inefficiencies. Branded "the rich man's Roosevelt" by Democrats who opposed him.20
